How to clear magento cache

Cache is used to load more quickly a website. Therefore, using Magento cache management system is one of the easy ways to speed up your Magento site. When the cache system is enabled, you must clear the cache before applying any modifications to your Magento store.

Magento 1.x by default includes a caching system to help improve the performance. When you make changes to your Magento website, you may not see the changes immediately. In cases where you want to see the changes you have made to your “live” Magento 1.x website, you’ll need to clear the cache files. Clearing the Magento 1.x cache files is easily accomplished in the Magento Admin Backend.

There are 2 ways of clearing Magento cache – automatically and manually.

In order to clear cache automatically via Magento admin panel, please follow the steps below.

1. Open your Magento admin panel.

2. Navigate to System -> Cache Management tab:

3. Check all Cache types and in the Actions box select Refresh. Then, click Submit button.

4. Select all Cache types and in the Actions box select Disable. Click Submit button again.

5. Also, please click Flush Magento Cache and Flush Cache Storage buttons.

You can clear the Magento 1.6 cache manually as well. If you’re working in FTP or cPanel File Manager and need to quickly clear your Magento 1.6 Cache files it’s relatively easy. All the cache files for Magento are stored in the /var/cache folder.
